Noreen Eichstaedt earns the Foundation Level Certified Tester (CTFL) from the American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB)

Skyline Technologies, a Wisconsin based technology consultancy, is proud to announce that Noreen Eichstaedt has earned the Foundation Level Certified Tester (CTFL) certification from the American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB).  The CTFL certification through ASTQB provides a strong foundation of practical testing knowledge.  It requires knowledge of testing fundamentals, standard vocabulary, test design techniques, fitting testing into a variety of development processes and managing the test process.

Noreen prepared for the exam through self-study, utilizing the ISTQB syllabus, mock exams and several books specific to the CTFL certification.  Noreen has 30 years of IT experience and has been a Skyline associate for over 20 years.  She has functioned in a variety of roles including project manager, business analyst, quality analyst and developer.  Her passion for quality has drawn her to ISTQB which will allow her to grow in her QA role by building on this foundation certification.

About ASTQB:
The American Software Testing Qualifications Board (or ASTQB) is the U.S. board for the international organization ISTQB, which provides software testing certification. Their mission is to continually improve and advance the software testing profession by maintaining various Bodies of Knowledge which allows testers to become certified.  As of June, 2016 there have been 470,000 certifications issued through ISTQB, covering 76 countries.  ISTQB provides a strong certification path:
  1. Foundation Level Certified Tester (CTFL):  Foundation “Specialty” certifications include Agile and Mobile
  2. Advanced Level Certified Tester (CTAL) for Test Manager, Test Analyst and Technical Test Analyst:  Advanced Level “Specialty” certifications include Security and Test Automation
  3. Expert Level Test Manager (CTEL) for Test Management and Improving the Test Process
