Skyline’s Justin Weyenberg Earns Xamarin Certified Mobile Developer Designation

Jan 30, 2017

Skyline Technologies, a Wisconsin based technology consultancy, is proud to announce that Justin Weyenberg has earned the Xamarin Mobile Developer certification.  This certification recognizes Justin’s ability to architect and develop mobile applications for the iOS, Android, and Windows platforms using Microsoft’s Xamarin cross-platform development software.

Xamarin’s development software allows Skyline’s software engineers to develop native applications that are deployed on Apple, Android, and Windows device with high degree of code reuse across the device platforms.  After becoming quickly adopted in the software developed community, Xamarin was acquired by Microsoft in 2016.

To earn the certification, Justin attended 20 classes through Xamarin University, conducted a 1:1 coaching session with a Xamarin Expert, and successfully completed a comprehensive exam.  Tim Miller, Principal Consultant and lead mobile evangelist within Skyline, noted the importance of Xamarin Certifications to the Skyline team, “The Xamarin Mobile Developer certification ensures that our software engineers have a solid understanding of mobile development and are capable of architecting the right solutions for our customers.”

Justin is the most recent Skyline associate to obtain the Xamarin Mobile Developer certification.  These certified developers frequently collaborate when developing solutions to ensure that all possible approaches are considered when developing an application.  In addition, certified developers have access to the Xamarin Certified Developers group on LinkedIn, which currently has more than 1,200 members, allowing them to connect with other experts in the field to continue their personal growth and network with other professionals in the mobile development space.

Skyline is a globally recognized leader in the use of Xamarin for the cross-platform mobile development.  In 2016, Skyline’s mobile application for the Mile of Music was featured at the Microsoft World Partner Conference.  Mile of Music is an annual multi-day, artisan music festival that attracts over 50,000 people each year from across the Midwest.  The mobile app allows festival goers to find their next favorite artist and plan their festival experience.  Additionally, the application helps festival organizers understand crowd movement and audience interests.  This application was featured by Microsoft not only because it was built with Xamarin but because the application leveraged the wide array Microsoft technologies including hosting upon Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform.
